ITunes issue

Postby Mickey » Wed Jan 13, 2010 9:22 am

Shawn, I just DL'd Itunes a few days ago to my pc, and it seems to have screwed with my speaker balance. Speaker settings are set properly, but I'm only getting one side. Running Vista - ideas?

Should have nothing to do with iTunes but anything is possible. Under Vista you can check in the Click on the Start Button > Control Panel > Sound. Click on your sound device that is playing back sound (best to have music or something playing at the time so you can hear the sound). That will let you bring you to a Speaker Setup wizard. If that fails to fix it check all physical connections to see if that is the problem.

Let me know if any of that fixed ya!

Yeah, I've done all that, checked all the settings. When I click test, it shows only the left side responding. There aren't many physical connections to check. Sure seems to coincide with the Itunes DL. When I bought the speakers initially, one side did not work, so I took them back figuring they were defective. Exchanged for another set of the exact same speakers, and they worked fine. I researched these speakers on Consumer Reports, and they had a favorable rating for a modest / reasonably priced set of speakers.

First thing I would check would be to see if the speakers get sound out of any other audio device (iPod, CD Player, Stereo) or computer source. Worst case you could uninstall iTunes to see if that fixes your problem?
