In today’s world it is amazing to think about all the great things that technology has brought to the music world for both musicians and fans. With all sorts of resources available including Social Networking websites like MySpace, Facebook and Twitter including media sharing sites like YouTube and Flickr there are many ways to connect with the music or musicians you love.
One of the coolest things to me as a blues musician and fan is the ability to have multimedia access to all sorts of music and musicians. There are really cool things to enjoy like music lessons on YouTube from professional musicians to discovering new musicians on MySpace. Some famous musicians also keep blogs and social networking profiles that allow fans to interact with them.
Look for some upcoming posts about how these tools can help blues musicians and fans alike.
For the 12th installment of Teach Me Tuesday I have included videos by world known professional musicians.

Hook ‘n Heat
Nov 18th
Today I had a great blues experience listening to the actual LP of John Lee Hooker’s “Hooker ‘n Heat” recorded on May of 1970 that featured Canned Heat as the backing and it has changed my life forever. This has to be one of the greatest records of all time and listening to it on a actually stereo system in LP format was a small piece of heaven on earth. This jaw dropping recording features the last recording of harmonica virtuoso Alan “Blind Owl” Wilson who would later die just a few months after this session.
Just holding the album cover in my hand reading the recording notes and hearing that band connect on a fourth dimension level was soul shaking. Music just is not made like this anymore, plain and simple. Not even close.
Here are a few videos I found of this recording… and for a Teach Me Tuesday lesson watch the cool Jason Ricci videos.
