Acoustic Sundays

The Return of Acoustic Sundays

Without acoustic blues music you would have no basis for any form of current music. No Elvis, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne or any other form of music.

Twin Cities Blues is proud to return the the root of all music by celebrating the wonders of Acoustic Blues and the artists that made current music possible.

No matter what your taste in blues music, be it blues rock, Zydeco, Chicago, Texas, British, you are sure to find comfort in listening to the start of it all… acoustic blues.

My journey through discovering blues music started with the blues rock styles of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King and more but the more that I dug deeper into blues music’s rich history the more I am starting to enjoy the root of all music, Acoustic Blues.

Here are some great videos to kick of the return of Acoustic Sundays at Twin Cities Blues:

Rev. Gary Davis – Slow Drag

Mississippi John Hurt – You Got To Walk That Lonesome Valley

R.L. Burnside – Poor Black Mattie

If you haven’t noticed, TwinCitiesBlues.com has added streaming music to the site to promote the great blues artists that call Minnesota home. The Twin Cities Blues Radio player is on the right sidebar and you will have to hit pause if you want to enjoy a BluesTube YouTube video.

A few bands have already agreed to allow TwinCitiesBlues.com to stream their music for the over 800+ visits that this site is getting these days. If you are an artist or band who would like to get your music streamed from this site please send an e-mail with the song title and CD name. You can even have multiple songs authorized to stream. If TwinCitiesBlues.com does not have the CD you can e-mail MP3 files or send CDs (greatly appreciated).
